Sorry and/or Thank you

Thank you and/or Sorry from SuperDriver

24 June 2021

To my fellow road users of Sheffield

Dear Reader

THANK YOU AND/OR APOLOGIES

Thanks for reading this open letter to you.  It is a big thank you or an apology for what may have occurred in the past, present or in the future.

What should you do when you have passed your practical driving test?

SORRY

I'm sure you can imagine it is a demanding job helping people learn to drive.  We let learners loose on the main roads when we feel they are up to it but sometimes they get it wrong and we have to take control and that could mean we inconvenience you by getting in your way, blocking lanes, driving slow, making you emergency brake and generally holding you up.  I apologise for this.  The Red L Plate is a clue, it means, give us plenty of space because our learner might make a mistake.  Whilst I have a dual control emergency brake, I cannot stop my customers braking for no reason so please help me by staying back.  Sorry.

THANK YOU

I thank you if you have been nice to us, given us space, if you have let us through a gap, helped us turn by leaving a gap, waited patiently while we complete a manouevre and then given us a smile and a thumbs up.  I also apologise if I didnt wave to say thank you.  Sometimes its not safe to wave, I know it must make me look ignorant but it's not intended and I really am grateful.

Thanks for reading this short letter, take care out there on our very busy roads.

I look forward to bumping into you ... not literally!
